Trinity Ellis is a London-based artist working between photography and painting. His practice is currently concerned with the body under pressure - how images hold it, discipline it, and quietly betray what they were made to conceal. Drawing on found and archival material, Ellis submerges the photographic image within dense, worked surfaces, producing objects that resist quick looking and ask instead for patience, proximity, and heat.
His work examines masculinity as something constructed and performed: the narrow conditions under which bodies are permitted to touch, and what surfaces when those conditions begin to soften. Ellis completed his MA at the Royal College of Art in 2026. Recent recognition includes the New Photography Prize, with work held in private collections.
